Cut And Defend

The Outdoor Edge Para-Claw combines daily utility, emergency aid and
self-defense back-up in the most useful paracord wristband we’ve seen.

Paracord bracelets have been a hot ticket for quite a few years now, but the Outdoor Edge Para-Claw just might be the coolest and most useful yet. Stowing a knife inside a buckle is a trick, which has been used on belt buckles for years, adding an extra level of utility and protection to the daily carry. Outdoor Edge has taken said concept to the buckle on their paracord bracelet, and done it masterfully.

The Para-Claw starts with a basic paracord wristband, available in three sizes: small, medium, and large. Like all paracord bracelets, the cord can be “un-braided” for use if needed. This is the point at which the Para-Claw separates itself from the pack, because inside the buckle is a wicked 1.5-inch Hawksbill blade capable of serving as a small knife for emergency, survival or self-defense.

The well-designed blade has a non-reflective BlackStone (stonewashed) finish and a notched thumb ramp for enhanced purchase. The blade is released by thumbing down a tab on the lower side of the buckle, which is made of sturdy glass-filled nylon. When coupled, you’d never know the buckle had a small knife concealed therein. The Para-Claw bracelet uses industry standard 550-grade paracord, which Outdoor Edge offers in black or Woodland Camo.

The Para-Claw could no doubt be used for daily chores, just as a penknife is handy for small cutting and slicing, but you’d really appreciate this small but effective blade if you needed it for survival or self-defense. Yes, it’s a small blade, but if it’s the only blade you have it could prove to be a mighty big asset. The suggested retail on the Outdoor Edge Para-Claw is $29.95, a small price to pay for adding another level of comfort to your daily carry.
