The warm, supple Enforcer jacket (above) was impervious to rain, which simply beaded up on its cotton/poly surface.
The jacket can also conceal a full-size pistol in separate hip holster, or a Wilson Beretta 92 Compact in the hidden chest pocket.
The removable holster/pouch secures in hidden pocket, and can be carried on the left or right side.

I met Scott Jordan, genius behind the SCOTTeVEST line of garments, at a SHOT Show several years ago, and have been impressed with his products ever since. As the brand name implies, he designed his multi-pocketed garments for the devices of the e-generation, later realizing their potential within the gun culture. Now comes a waist-length jacket with no fewer than 30 pockets, including a soft Velcro-type holster that fits the front vest pockets, allowing a sort of “concealed chest carry.” SeV calls it the EDC Jacket.

It has zippered holster slots on each side, like a police patrol jacket, allowing this hip-length garment to accommodate those of us who prefer to holster at the hip. Testing in multiple states, I found it comfortable in the high 30’s and low 40’s Fahrenheit, and in the chilly wind-swept rain of South Dakota I found water beaded up on its cotton-poly material and never saturated. There, I also learned to appreciate the EDC Jacket’s high stand-up collar, the same one found on the Brad Thor signature SeV Alpha jacket.

The supple EDC jacket (above) in no way impeded Mas’ student Matt Schinzing as he blasted his way to top shot in his class. Matt Schinzing (below) regularly carries 12 pounds of gear in his EDC jacket.

A Wilson-Beretta 92 Compact Carry rode with reasonable comfort in that dedicated breast pocket, fairly quick to hand via its discreetly concealed zip-down opening. The many pockets proved handy for iPhone and assorted gear, including gloves. The garment itself is light in weight for the warmth it offers.

If your motto is, “iPad, iPod, iPhone, therefore I am,” you will appreciate this garment. In that South Dakota class was Matt Schinzing, of the Geeks, Gadgets and Guns Podcast. A true Gen 2.0 Shooter, he gets more use out of his EDC jacket than I do. He has tallied up 12 pounds worth of gear he carries in his, a lot of it emergency medical stuff, but yes, there’s an iPad in there. He finds it comfortable, and with it on, he just looks like a big guy in a contemporary shell jacket. He shot most of the range portion of the class with the EDC jacket on and came in first in class on the final qualification. I found no binding in sleeves or shoulders when shooting from any stance, including Isosceles.

Original retail was $475, and SeV currently offers it at $399. I like mine very much, and it’s staying as a regular part of my wardrobe.
