I’ve always had a soft spot for a well-made single-action revolver, and Cimarron continues to impress me. Their Pistoleer is a great example of why.
A lot of the credit goes to Mike Harvey, Cimarron’s founder. He helped raise the bar for quality and authenticity among the Italian manufacturers, and you can see the results every time you pick up one of these revolvers.
This particular Pistoleer features a 4¾-inch barrel, all-steel construction, and a handsome blued finish complemented by polished hammer sides, charcoal-blued screws, and attractive grips with the Cimarron logo medallion. Mine is chambered in .45 Colt, though there are other grip and finish options available if you want a different look.
Of course, a revolver has to do more than look good — it has to shoot well. After loading five rounds and heading to the range, the Pistoleer reminded me why the .45 Colt remains such an enjoyable cartridge. The revolver points naturally, balances well and delivers the kind of shooting experience that makes you want to keep loading five more rounds.
If you’re looking for a traditional single-action revolver that combines classic styling with solid craftsmanship, the Cimarron Pistoleer deserves a closer look. It’s a handsome sixgun with plenty of Old West character, backed by the quality that Cimarron has become known for over the years.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think it’s time to load five more and head back to the firing line.
