Developed in 1958 to give hunters a strong and powerful, yet lightweight and affordable rifle, the Savage Model 110 is the oldest continuously manufactured bolt-action rifle in North America. More than six decades later, the Model 110 has undergone a number of improvements, including Savage’s patented AccuTrigger, AccuStock and AccuFit systems, offering shooters unmatched adjustability, fit and performance.

With nearly 40 models available in over a dozen calibers, Savage has announced its new Backcountry Xtreme Series of Model 110 rifles, including two brand-new additions for 2021 — the 110 Timberline and 110 Ultralite Camo.

Backcountry Xtreme Series

Designed with today’s hunters in mind and built for hard-hitting performance in even tougher conditions, the Savage Backcounty Xtreme Series is the apex of the Model 110’s journey. Combining Savage innovations with modern materials, finishes and camo patterns, the rifles enable those in pursuit of big game to hunt farther, higher and longer without sacrificing accuracy or durability. Included in the Backcountry Xtreme Series are the Model 110 Bear Hunter, 110 High Country, 110 Ridge Warrior, 110 Ultralite and new 110 Timberline and 110 Ultralite Camo.

110 Timberline

One of two new Model 110 rifles, the 110 Timberline was optimized for performance in low-temperature, low-humidity and low-pressure environments. Fit into a Realtree EXCAPE Camo AccuFit stock, the rifle sports a 22”/24″ fluted, carbon steel barrel and receiver with OD Green Cerakote finish for ultimate concealment amongst dense trees.

The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept your favorite long-range riflescope and mount, and the AccuTrigger is adjustable from 1.4-4 lbs. for a crisp and clean pull when making precision shots at any distance. Like all other 110 models, the Timberline feeds from a detachable box magazine. Available chamberings include 308 Win, .243 Win, .270 Win, .280 Ackley Imp, 30-06 Sprg, .300 Win Mag, .300 WSM, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, 7mm Rem Mag and 7mm-08 Rem. MSRP is $1,129.

110 Ultralite Camo

Identical in performance to the 110 Ultralite announced earlier this year, the new 110 Ultralite Camo takes the synthetic AccuFit Stock and adds attractive KUIU Verde 2.0 camo — a high-contrast pattern made up of tan, grey, green and black elements for long-range breakup and close range concealment when hunting timber, tundra and grasslands. Chambered in .308 Win, .28 Nosler, 30-06 Sprg, 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5 PRC, the rifle also sports a 22″/24″ black PROOF Research carbon wrapped stainless steel barrel.

Built for endurance and concealment at the highest altitudes, the 110 Ultralite Camo weighs just 5.8 lbs and features a matte black, drilled and tapped Melonite receiver, spiral fluted bolt and 5/8-24 threaded muzzle. MSRP is $1,549.
