The Chris Reeve Special Edition Insingo

KnifeArt.com’s Sebenza 21 Carbon Fiber Insingo offers lighter weight without sacrificing
the size in a large tactical folder, and its modified Wharncliff blade is a true workhorse.

The Chris Reeve Sebenza has been one of the most hailed and awarded folding knives in the history of the modern tactical era. Just ask the brothers Connelly—Larry and Rodney—the proprietors of KnifeArt.com who have sold a boatload of Reeve’s trademark, upscale knife over the years. The Brothers Connelly also have an exclusive Chris Reeve knife—the Sebenza 21 Carbon Fiber Insingo—which only KnifeArt.com sells.

This exclusive folder sports a slick, modified Wharncliff “Insingo” blade designed by younger brother Rodney, who wanted to design a Sebenza blade both “tough and useful for many tasks.” It is mated to a Sebenza 21 frame which has Reeve’s signature Integral Lock (also referred to as a frame-lock) on the Titanium back side but with a Carbon Fiber slab on the top that knocks 0.61 ounces off the weight of the original. Overall length of the Carbon Fiber Insingo is 8.335 inches—3.625 in the premium S35VN stainless steel Insingo blade with a fine stonewashed finish and jeweled blue Titanium thumb stud. There’s even more Titanium to be had in the form of a pocket clip on the backside and machined bead on a short cord pull at the base, accented with blue anodizing to match the thumb stud.

The Sebenza has always been considered a large folder, as were most of the “combat” folders borne out of the early years of the modern tactical knife boom. At only 3.7 ounces in weight, KnifeArt.com’s Carbon Fiber Insingo offers less bulk without sacrificing the size of a large tactical folder and its modified Wharncliff blade is an all around workhorse, able to handle big chores and provide self defense. Retail for the Sebenza 21 Carbon Fiber Insingo is $455 including Chris Reeve’s lifetime warranty and unparalleled record for award-winning quality. For those wishing a smaller carry, a smaller version of the Carbon Fiber Insingo is also available.
