.38 Special Wadcutters At 100 Yards

Roy’s Insider Tips #038
January 2015

Shooting .38 Special Wadcutters is a favorite of American Handgunner Editor Roy Huntington. Taking a target out to 100 yards, Roy uses a Smith & Wesson Model 14 and J-Frame to make hits. Which one is more accurate?

Snakes & Shot Cartridges

Roy’s Insider Tips #199
January 2015

American Handgunner’s Roy Huntington looks at a solution for ridding deadly snakes or unwanted varmints from your property by examining the effectiveness of .22 LR, .22 Magnum and .45 Colt shot cartridges at close distances. Which one would you prefer to do the job?

Walther CCP

Walther has packed style, ergonomics, and accuracy in a compact conceal-carry 9mm. The CCP (Concealed Carry Pistol) also features SOFTCOIL™ gas-delayed blowback technology. When fired, the bullet moves through the barrel. A portion of gasses generated pass into a gas port to build pressure against a piston to oppose rearward motion and reduce recoil. This allowed Walther engineers to utilize a reduced-tension recoil spring for easy slide manipulation; making the CCP 8-round single stack a perfect personal protection choice.

New Product Of The Day

5-20×56 SHV Riflescope.

The 5-20×56 SHV is available in illuminated and non-illuminated reticle models. Illuminated versions feature center-only reticle illumination, which helps prevent low-light flare, and external illumination control is incorporated into the side parallax adjustment. Reticles include the IHR (International Hunting Reticle), a fast 3-post design with floating center crosshair, and the MOAR, a MOA-based reticle that provides accurate rangefinding and hold-offs. The new 5-20×56 SHV comes standard with Nightforce ZeroSet technology that allows a rapid return to the shooter’s chosen zero point.
